JD for Team Lead       Job Title Team Lead – Development Type of Position Permanent Ref No.   Business Area GBM ROCC Risk Technology Location Gurgaon, India Business Division GBM Technology, India Role/Team Summary: ROCC Risk Technology provides global IT solutions to Regulatory, Operational and Core Credit Risk within RBS Global Banking and Markets division. This includes support of existing systems, small enhancements to those systems as well as larger-scale projects. This role is to provide team leadership for such projects. The ideal candidate will: ·          Provide input to technical design of new solutions applying current software design techniques. ·          Decompose design into development plan tasks and provide accurate estimation of effort. ·          Able to work with the business to confirm requirements and agree a concise set of requirements, and estimate and design ·          Own the specific parts of a solution from design and development through to test and implementation. ·          Ensuring all development meets business requirements and is delivered fully tested and as per development plan. ·          Lead scoping, estimation and planning activities. ·          Be responsible for hands-on team management activities including line-management and delivery of tasks undertaken by the team managed, ensuring quality and timeliness. ·          With the help of the Project Manager, work with senior business and technology managers, to identify business requirements and the associated business case for development projects. This will also include stakeholder engagement including sponsors. ·          Manage resource allocation. ·          Collaborate with other peers in the project team towards successful project delivery. ·          Regularly track project progress and discuss that with the Project Manager. ·          Interaction with numerous business groups (Operations, Middle Office, Front Office, Finance etc.) throughout the full project lifecycle, and with other IT teams as appropriate. ·          Manage risk, issues, assumptions and dependencies ·          Coordinate activities between the testing and the development teams. ·          Coordinate activities with teams external to the project (developers from other projects, support, users and SMEs) ·          Participate in recruitment activity – define new skill requirements and assess potential candidate fit. This Role will report to a Project Manager This is predominantly a role for someone with experience of managing teams of up to 10 people and with a good mix of technical, functional and management background Essential Experience: (Must have skills) ·         At least 7 years working experience with Software Development life cycle. ·         At least 3 years team management experience. ·         B.E. or M.C.A qualification from a reputed college. A very good technical background preferably Java, C#, Sybase/Oracle, J2EE/.NET, Linux/Solaris platforms Application of structured software development techniques including requirements analysis, functional decomposition, modelling, prototyping, functional design, estimating and testing Microsoft Project and Excel Microsoft Sharepoint collaboration tool Excellent email, phone and face-face communication Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills) A post graduate degree in Business Administration or equivalent degree/certification. This includes support of existing systems, small enhancements to those systems as well as larger-scale projects. ·          This role is to provide analysis, design, development and implementation of new software and enhancements. ·          The role reports to a Team Lead/Project Manager. Deliverables: (Criteria/results by which success can be measured) As directed by Project Manager, contribute to or lead software development lifecycle management, requirements definition/analysis and feasibility analysis. Provide significant input to technical design of new solutions applying current software design techniques. Decompose design into development plan tasks and provide accurate estimation of effort. Own the specific parts of a solution from design and development through to test and implementation. Participate in recruitment activity – define new skill requirements and assess potential candidate fit. Mentor and develop the technical skills of others. Essential Experience: (Must have skills) Educational Qualification A qualification from an Engineering College, MCA (honours/ 1st class) Technical knowledge Sound knowledge of modern software architectures and development techniques. Application of structured software development techniques including requirements analysis, functional decomposition, modelling, prototyping, functional design, estimating and testing. Proven track record of having delivered quality software solutions and resolving complex problems.   4+ years of proven hands-on software/database development experience using: ·         Java – at least v1.4, object oriented design, three-tiered architecture, J2EE, Struts, JSP, Web services, SOAP, XSL, XML, JDBC ·         PL/SQL and stored procedures in Oracle Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills) Business Knowledge Experience of Credit or Market Risk within a major investment bank. Familiarity with front-to-back office investment banking business functions and investment banking products. Technical Knowledge Maven, Autosys, Spring, Hibernate, Sybase, Coherence, DataSynapse Grid, CVS or similar, Cruise Control Personal Attributes: Good communication skills both written and verbal.
