ROCC Risk Technology provides global IT solutions to Regulatory, Operational and Core Credit Risk within RBS Global Banking and Markets division. This includes support of existing systems, small enhancements to those systems as well as larger-scale projects. This role is to provide team leadership for such projects. The ideal candidate will: · Provide input to technical design of new solutions applying current software design techniques. · Decompose design into development plan tasks and provide accurate estimation of effort. · Able to work with the business to confirm requirements and agree a concise set of requirements, and estimate and design · Own the specific parts of a solution from design and development through to test and implementation. · Ensuring all development meets business requirements and is delivered fully tested and as per development plan. · Lead scoping, estimation and planning activities. · Be responsible for hands-on team management activities including line-management and delivery of tasks undertaken by the team managed, ensuring quality and timeliness. · With the help of the Project Manager, work with senior business and technology managers, to identify business requirements and the associated business case for development projects. This will also include stakeholder engagement including sponsors. · Manage resource allocation. · Collaborate with other peers in the project team towards successful project delivery. · Regularly track project progress and discuss that with the Project Manager. · Interaction with numerous business groups (Operations, Middle Office, Front Office, Finance etc.) throughout the full project lifecycle, and with other IT teams as appropriate. · Manage risk, issues, assumptions and dependencies · Coordinate activities between the testing and the development teams. · Coordinate activities with teams external to the project (developers from other projects, support, users and SMEs) · Participate in recruitment activity – define new skill requirements and assess potential candidate fit. This is predominantly a role for someone with experience of managing teams of up to 10 people and with a good mix of technical, functional and management background |
