SSP is looking for JAVA Developers/Sr.Developers for which we are planning to conduct a recruitment drive. The specifications of the requirement are as below.

Purpose

Working with the offshore product development, to develop software in accordance with specified requirements.

Key Duties

·       To develop software in accordance with technical specifications, coding standards and interface guidelines and within the time-scales specified by the Development Team Leader

·       To be a part of the Java product development and assist in the design, development, defect fixing and technical implementation of the software

·       To help and guide other team members

·       To create reference documentation on new areas of development

·       To provide estimates for work as required

·       To be responsible for unit testing

·       To ensure release of components into the Build processes by following the correct guidelines

·       To understand industry terminology and functionality

·       To analyse and provide solutions to issues that arise during the development cycle

·       To focus on tasks those need to be completed, to take a thorough approach, and to ensure that developments are fit for purpose.

·       To support demo systems for prospective customers/clients

·       Able to identify and evaluate Java related new technologies for POC / R&D

·       Able to work on the web services/integration skills for SELECT with external systems

Essential Attributes

·         A minimum of 4 years of development experience with at least 2 years experience using JAVA (1.5) technology

·         Should be very strong in OOPS concepts and various design patterns

·         Minimum 2 years of experience on J2EE – JSP, Servlets

·         JPA (EJB 3.0)

·         Should have worked on Eclipse based IDEs like AST, WSAD or RAD

·         XML

·         SQL

·         Good knowledge of Unit Testing processes

·         A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work

·         Good communication skills

Desirable Attributes

·         Knowledge/experience of working in Insurance domain is a plus

·         Experience in JavaScript, XSLT, XPath and EXTJS will be an added advantage

·         Experience with SVN

·         Experience with WAS and Apache/IBM HTTP server

·         Experience with DB2

·         SCJP, SCWCD certifications will be a plus

Other aspects:

·         Willingness to travel abroad for short durations (must hold valid passport)

·         Willingness to learn new technical skills
