Position & Person Profile
Position Title : Manager/Deputy Manager -Human Resources
Division/ Business Unit/ Department : Human Resources
Location : Corporate Office, Mumbai
Reporting To : VP – Human Resources
Position Purpose:
This is a Generalist HR Role and will be a mix of business and corporate HR role handling 3 or more critical areas in HR. The incumbent will be the HR representative /business HR for more than1 department. In addition to the same, he/she will be responsible for recruitment and training of Management Trainees for the entire organisation and independently driving 1-2 additional corporate HR initiatives/projects as described in this PD.
Qualification
A] Essential:
- MBA or an equivalent degree (Full time, 2 year course) in HR from a Premium Institute
- MA-PM&IR, PGDBA with HR, MMS (HR) as a specialisation would be considered at par with MBA-HR
B] Preferred:
MBA from Premium Institutes
Experience
A] Essential
- Minimum 4 - 11 years of post qualification experience.
- The candidate should have done core HR work, should not be a mere HR representative or coordinator in previous assignments
- Applicants with less than 4 yrs of experience will not be short listed
B] Preferred:
Candidates from HR Consulting or Corporate HR background
Position Responsibilities:
A] Special HR Projects
1) Culture Building
- Responsible for creation of a culture blueprint for the organisation and designing and implementing Culture Building initiative across SBI General.
- Cascading down broad level Cultural ethos and norms agreed by the Senior Team
2) Employee Retention
- Analysing the attrition data across the entire organization
- Identifying levers to retain talent and make a concentrated effort involving the entire HR and leadership team to keep the retention percentage high and percentage of star/performer’s retention even higher.
- Responsible for designing and implementing strategies to retain the best of the talent; initiating retention measures employee engagement surveys, exit and stay interviews, etc.
- Developing mechanism to gauge the pulse of the people and putting in place a pro-active grievance handling mechanism
- Should be aware of the industry wide best practices and theories of Applied Behavioural Sciences on Groups /Organisation; counsel the HR team and line managers on the same and use them successfully for retention management
Other initiatives/projects as per HR Balances Score Card on a year to year basis.
B] HR Representatives
- Handling end-to-end HR activities for the Department.
- Meeting the recruitment volume oriented targets by choosing optimum selection logistics; ensuring quality of hire without compromising on speed; instilling values of confidentiality (of applicants), trust and transparency in the process as well as the team around.
- Being part of the interview panel and designing interview tools & psychometric tests for conducting interviews at various levels
- Liaising with the HR Operations team and being in charge of each recruitment case till the Offer is rolled out; ensuring smooth on-boarding for the new recruits.
- Implementing Performance Management process for the department and driving the half-yearly and annual appraisal process.
- Implement the initiatives related to talent management and career planning for the identified talent pool of the department
- Drive the employee engagement initiatives for the department
- Representing HR in various departmental meeting and forums and add value by implementing suitable HR interventions
Being the sole point of contact for HR related queries for the department
C] Channel Management
Responsible for end to end management of the Campus recruitment Channel for SBI General. The incumbent has to drive the Management Trainee/Executive Trainee scheme for the year, which will include short listing of management colleges, relationship building with the colleges, campus recruitment process, selection and on-boarding of the trainees etc.
