Position Summary
The Software Engineer role is responsible for technical design, development, and maintenance of software applications and their associated components.
The contender will be an integral member of the team that builds NCR's award-winning products and services. We are looking for a Software Engineer who has strong computer science fundamentals and solid experience with industry-standard technologies to join our elite team of product development professionals. We are looking for an innovative software engineer who will drive all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements to design to development to test to release to customer success.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Software Engineer is responsible for ensuring that solutions meet business needs by:
- Developing product/solution architecture based on customer requirements written from business requirement documents and/or business requirement specifications.
- Converting requirements to functional requirements to develop software code that is accessible, usable, efficient, re-usable, cost effective, maintainable, reliable and installable.
- Designing and modeling program/code for an integrated software product or system that supports re-use, change and integration of various components.
- Constructing software, which meet requirements, promote re-use of software components, and facilitate ease of support.
- Developing and maintaining multiple developments and testing environments.
- Developing and maintaining automated unit tests, track problems, and implement changes to ensure adherence to test plan and functional requirements.
- Diagnosing, isolating, and implementing remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code, using knowledge of system characteristics and utilizing software based system maintenance and tracking tools.
- Provide input and technical content for technical documentation for user help materials and customer training.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelors degree in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience in software architecture, design, and development
- Desire to push oneself to grow and improve as a software engineer
- Ability to understand business and technical requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Excellent knowledge of computer science fundamentals: object-oriented design and design patterns, data structures, algorithms
- Excellent knowledge of development tools: IDEs, compilers, debuggers, profilers, version control systems
- Experience with several of the following modern technologies: C#.NET, .NET Framework 2.0, XML, XSLT, Windows Forms Programming with C#.NET 2.0
- Excellent documentation skills
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of UML and experience with design tools: Enterprise Architect or similar
- Experience with automated unit test tools: NUnit or similar
- Knowledge of secure coding
- Experience with Win32 and C++
- Experience using .NET Framework 3.0 Workflow Foundation, AJAX, and Communication Foundation

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead a NCR Solution software engineering group based out of Hyderabad, India. He/she will manage and mentor a team of talented software designers, developers and testing engineers who are focused on application development. They will be involved in driving the development process of one of NCR's core financial product solutions in the eCommerce, Payments and Mobility space. These areas are potential high growth solution amongst financial solutions markets.
This person will be challenged with the demand for this complex, feature rich application in a fast-paced Agile programming environment, while ensuring that solution remains a stable and reliable solution for NCR's financial customers. He/she will be leading new development, upgrades and fixes, as well as customer-specific integration requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBNILITIES
Ÿ Assure successful completion of software development projects, on time and within budget
Ÿ Develop and establish operational objectives
Ÿ Participate in development of product design strategy
Ÿ Provide one-on-one coaching/development to the Development Team
Ÿ Identify alternatives to issues that have a significant impact on meeting objectives, analyzing the alternatives, and selecting one or more alternatives that best support prescribed objectives

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Ÿ Experience managing a software development group in the creation of complex software applications
Ÿ Knowledge of software testing practices and processes
Ÿ Experience developing real-time applications
Ÿ Experience with Oracle 10g/11g and Real Application Clusters
Ÿ Working knowledge of multi-threaded VC++ applications
Ÿ Experience with crypto technology
